Unai Emery’s 12 Arsenal Signings Where Are They Now?

Arsenal, like a number of the Premier League’s biggest names, feel like they are waiting for the first domino to fall in the transfer window.

After coming so close to securing Champions League football last season, manager Mikel Arteta will be keen to strengthen his squad as effectively and succinctly as possible this summer.

A striker was always likely to be top of his shopping list, although that need has been further intensified by the confirmed departure of Alexandre Lacazette. Getting in the right replacement could shape the team’s 2022-23 campaign.

Mirror Sport has all of the latest Arsenal news, as the club stand on the brink of one of their most significant transfer windows in many years.

What striker on the market would be the best fit for Arteta’s Arsenal? Let us know in the comments section below.

Tielemans told to join Arsenal

Former England international forward Darren Bent believes Youri Tielemans would be an ideal signing for the Gunners this summer.

The Belgium international has been one of the standout playmakers in the Premier League in recent years at Leicester City, although his time at the King Power Stadium appears to be coming to an end.

Tielemans has a year left on his contract and it seems likely he will be moved on this summer so Leicester can recoup some transfer funds for his sale. Former Tottenham striker Bent believes he’d be an ideal fit for the Gunners.

“If he was to leave, I would like him to come to Arsenal,” he said. “I really like him, Youri Tielemans. I think he is a very good player, he starts in that Belgium team as well. He has got good quality to him. I think he fits in at Arsenal nicely, I really do.”

Arsenal make Bellerin decision

Arsenal will reportedly opt against releasing Hector Bellerin from his contract at the club, holding up a potential switch to Real Betis.

The full-back spent the previous season on loan in Andalusia and built up a strong affinity with the supporters during that time. Betis are now said to be ready to push for a permanent deal and they were hoping Arsenal would make matters easier by allowing him to move on a free.

However, the 27-year-old may have to wait before any deal is done, with Arsenal not willing to lose Bellerin for free. With Arteta seeking to improve his own squad, it would appear every penny is precious for the Gunners at this stage.

Arsenal can avoid January mistake

It was widely reported that the Gunners were interested in signing Dusan Vlahovic in January, only for Juventus to strike a deal with Fiorentina for the forward.

While some Gunners lamented their club’s apparent dallying when it came to a possible deal, they may be able to approach a potential target with some patience this summer – Gabriel Jesus.

The Manchester City man is said to be one of Arteta’s top choices to lead the line, although he is currently away on international duty with Brazil, meaning any decision regarding his future is still some way off. The Gunners also have another alternative up top.

“Arteta can afford to wait for his top target – and that’s mainly because of the emergence of Eddie Nketiah,” wrote Dan Marsh. “After bagging five goals in seven games, Nketiah has proven that he is capable of playing a bigger role for Arsenal next year; even if that doesn’t necessarily mean that he’ll automatically be Arteta’s main man.

“The fact that Arsenal have an adequate deputy who is capable of scoring regularly takes some of the heat off of Arteta as he plays the waiting game in pursuit of Jesus.”
