Banchero leads Magic to first NBA win as Lakers lose fifth game

2022 NBA number one draft pick Paolo Banchero finally got his first NBA win as he recorded a double-double for Orlando Magic in their 113-93 win over the Charlotte Hornets. The 19-year-old led the scoring for his side with 21 points and 11 rebounds against the Hornets. Gordon Hayward scored 18 points for the Hornets in the game.

Los Angeles Lakers continued their woeful start to the NBA season as they lost 111-102 to the Minnesota Timberwolves for a fifth straight loss to start the season. Anthony Edwards scored 29 points for the Timberwolves, with Rudy Gobert contributing 22 points and 21 rebounds. LeBron James also scored 28 points for the Lakers, leading the scoring for his team.

Atlanta Hawks defeated the Detroit Pistons 136-112 in their NBA clash. Trae Young led the scoring for the Hawks with 36 points and 12 assists in the game, while Cade Cunningham scored 35 points for the Pistons in their defeat.

Cleveland Cavaliers claimed a 132-123 OT win over Eastern Conference champions Boston Celtics to improve to 4-1 for the season. Donovan Mitchell and Caris LeVert each contributed 41 points for the Cavaliers. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown contributed 32 points apiece for the Celtics.

Indiana Pacers defeated the Washington Wizards 127-117 in their NBA clash to claim only their second win of the season. Myles Turner led the scoring for the side with 27 points and ten rebounds, as Tyrese Haliburton contributed 25 points and 12 assists. Bradley Beal recorded 31 points for the Wizards in the game.

Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Toronto Raptors 112-90 to claim their second win of the NBA season. Tyrese Maxey led the scoring for the Raptors with 44 points in the encounter while Pascal Siakam scored 26 points and ten rebounds for the Raptors.

Milwaukee Bucks maintained their 100% start to the season with a 119-108 win over the New York Knicks. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the scoring for his side with 30 points and 14 rebounds in the game as RJ Barrett scored 20 points for the Knicks.

San Antonio Spurs defeated the Chicago Bulls 129-124 in their NBA clash to improve their record to 4-2 this season. Keldon Johnson led the scoring for the Spurs with 33 points, and Jakob Poeltl scored 21 points and 13 rebounds. DeMar DeRozan scored 33 points for the Bulls in the game, as well.

Denver Nuggets picked up a 117-101 win over the Utah Jazz to pick up their fourth win of the season. Nah’Shon Hyland led the scoring for the Nuggets with 26 points, and Michael Porter Jr contributed 22 points and 13 rebounds in the game. Lauri Markkanen scored 17 points and ten rebounds for the Jazz.

Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Houston Rockets 125-111 in their NBA clash on Friday. Anfernee Simons led the scoring in the game with 30 points as Jusuf Nurkic recorded 27 points and 15 rebounds. Kevin Porter Jr scored 16 points for the Rockets in the game.

Phoenix Suns claimed a 124-111 win over the New Orleans Pelicans to claim their fourth win this season. Mikal Bridges led the scoring for the Suns with 27 points as Jonas Valanciunas scored 25 points and ten rebounds for the Pelicans.
