On Saturday night in Las Vegas, Conor McGregor returns to the Octagon for a third fight with rival Dustin Poirier. The two meet in the main event of UFC 264 from T-Mobile Arena after splitting their first two meetings with each scoring a knockout.

McGregor’s win came all the way back in 2014 when he was still on the rise to superstardom. Shortly after stopping Poirier in less than two minutes, McGregor claimed the feather and lightweight titles — the first fighter to do so simultaneously in UFC history.

But Poirier was not far behind after his loss. The native of Louisiana turned things around quickly and has amassed an 11-2 (1 NC) record since the defeat with wins over five former titleholders in the UFC. Now, a win by either man all but guarantees a shot at the lightweight title and Charles Oliveira in their next fight.

The card also marks the return of a pair of former welterweight title contenders when Stephen Thompson meets Gilbert Burns in the co-main event. Thompson has won two straight after dropping two in a row while Burns is coming off a loss to champion Kamaru Usman. A win for Thompson could put him in line for a third title bout. Plus, heavyweights Tai Tuivasa and Greg Hardy meet in a featured bout that’s sure to bring tons of action.
